It works, but make sure you have a good story for your fellow nimrods. "I'am going to hunt the ones that shoot back in exotic places, and I want to get used to my rig under field conditons." I much prefer .300Savage for local whitetails.

Although I have not had the chance to shoot any animals last year, I carried my 375 RUM for deer and hogs. I have loaded some 260gr Accubonds not quite to max pressure for my rifle.

Since I've got my 375 H&H most of my other guns sit in the cabinet and collect dust. Every once in a while I'll use my AR-15 for coyote and fox but the hides down here aren't worth anything so I even use my 375 for them.

I've even thought about selling most of my other guns and stocking up on reloading supplies for my 375, and getting a better scope and what not.

I have used my 375 with 250 grain Barnes "X" bullets for 5 years now to hunt whitetail, feral hog, elk, and musk-ox.

In fact, it has become a toss up as to which rifle I grab when I leave the house to go hunting, my 375 or my 35 Whelen.

I have a new CZ 550 in 458 and I will hunt deer with that using 350 grain Hornady round nose bullets. I killed one whitetail with the first 458 I had, a tang safety Ruger mod. 77. Took the third vertabrae down from the skull, out the back of the neck, off hand at about 75 yards. Very little meat destruction on a neck roast and no tracking job.

Had some Swift 250's laying around... so took them Deer hunting and you know what? They worked better than good.

Barnes has a 235 TSX now for the .375's that may be the ideal deer bullet for a 375 H&H. I am going to try them after mine arrives.
