Gents:

I was just on the phone with someone in Sales at CZ who told me plans for the 550 LH have now been scrapped indefinitely. No further info was forthcoming.

Pity.

When I see one, then I will believe it. Anything short of that is talk. That is true for any "plans" for manufacturing left hand bolt rifles.

They've been telling me "next year" since 2005. I never believed them.

Hey Wayne,

I'm an ex MM-1(SS) Nuke on the 620, 645 and 686. Good to see another bubblehead on here!

Maybe Winchester will bring out another LH dg rifle, but it'll likely be years from now if they do.

Start getting your components for a custom LH DG rifle now if your waiting for Ruger (except for the 375 Ruger in LH), Winchester, or CZ to start running LH rifles in large calibers. These companies look at the bottom dollar and it's rarely profitable for them to start running a batch of LH rifles.

In other words, Ruger listened and delivered on their mark II, while the rsm would have been priced triple ...

11% of market is significant, certainly, and ruger listens

I received an email from the powers that be at CZ today and was told the factory will be releasing LH 550 Safaris in the 3rd quarter of 2009.

Stop the madness. It is all BS until we are holding one. I think CZ is getting a good laugh with this.

That's the point - it appears CZ has made this claim for a few years now. I, too, will believe it when I am holding one. For now, just sharing what I was told directly.

I saw a LH CZ 550, but when it will hit the market, who knows.

It was at the CZ office in KC. But seemed to generate little interest when I mentioned it. So they are coming ... someday!
