Brownells sells the CZ-550 actions. Allen It's a Mauser thing, you wouldn't understand.

I've used both and would choose the CZ. Both make nice custom rifles with varying amounts of gunsmithing but the CZ will require alot less. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

I would look for a complete CZ550 Magnum action. You can get it in 458 Lott for that case head size or one in 416 Rigby if you need something bigger. Strip the gun for the action, sell the extra parts to help pay. If you get one of the American Safari guns I would be interested in the stock. For what Brownells sells the action for, you can pay for about 70% the cost of a complete gun and then sell the parts and probably come out ahead. Just a thought.

there are four!! P-series actions in the classifieds as I post this. The P-14 bolt face is big enough to do even a 505 Gibbs with some work. Rich DRSS

actually its 2 P-14's and 2 M 1917's I have in the classifieds. I have used these actions for a 500A2,458 Lott,458x2,416Rem Mag,375 Taylor,30-378,,ect ect. One of my rifles is a 35 Whelen on a M34 Action that was a Honduran contract rifle. The Big Enfields are plenty stout and I believe I have them priced fairly. I believe AHR also has CZ-550 actions for sale. A M1917 action with a P-14 bolt is one heck of alot of work to make into a slick big bore. Find a Model 30 Remington action instead if you can. You'll still need to make or buy a mag box. By the time your done a CZ550 will look real cheap. what Rob said... unless you are doing your own work, OR want a very "low change" rifle, the 550 is a great starting place over the enfield.. jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round?
