Well gang Am home dried out and warmed up but we had a BLAST! With 5 shooters things went smooth and everyone got lots of shooting! Was asked if we can do it again in the spring? i for one will do it if we can! late May sounds right to me. will let nitro and dpm post there stories. the 5 of us shot a 20 rd course with 2 DWJ,2 moving the rest paper targets. In the end we shoot 30 more DWJ,s just to have fun! the part that made me feel real good was everyone wanted to stay in the rain and help clean up the mess! hope to see more shooters in the spring Clint

Hello All,

It was a great pleasure to meet and shoot with all of you.
Thanks for letting me try your 458 AR and 450.
I'm glad I could make your day shooting the 470,
If you don't shoot em no point in having em.

Looking forward to the next one.

Jeffe,

It did happen, I know in this age of cameras and videos, it often seems like if it was not recored it never took place.

5 shooters showed up.
The line up was as follows:
470 NE DR K-gun
45-70 DR (Conversion tubes in SXS 12 ga)Baikal
404 Jeff. Mod 70
9.3 Dakota (Mod 70 ?)
45-70 Ruger #1
450 Marlin Siamese Mauser
458 AR Ruger Mk II

If I forgot any guns or described them incorrectly, I am sure one of the others will be along to correct me.

The course of fire involved 2, 3 and 4 shots at various stationary and moving targets. (20 total )
The ranges were 25 yards unless target was closing and then it varied.
The shooting was timed and 5 sec's added for shots not in the vital zone.
On a whole a paper plate would have covered all of the combined shot on every target, even though some were not in the 3" circle considered the vital zone. (1/2 scale targets of Buff )

In the end we did not even total the scores since we had 3 clases of rifle ( DR, SR and Bolt)
The 3 bolt shooters could have totalled, and seen who had what score, but it was not that a competitive atmosphere.

I had fun and I believe I speak for all in saying we will do it again.
