I just happened across a note on the Double Gun Journal site that Michael Petrov lost his battle with cancer in February. Might have been posts here on AR that I simply missed, but thought I would mention this. I have enjoyed his writing, and he actually helped me confirm that I had an original Springfield sporter a couple of years ago.
Just very sorry to hear it, especially in light of the .400 Whelen thread.

R.I.P. Michael Chris Petrov.

Posterity records his authoritative authorship of published works, periodicals and books.
There is also a new version of the 400 Whelen. Petrov's name lives on there too,
from the literature regarding his 2003 revival of the "400 Whelen," as well as a re-specified "400 Whelen Petrov Berry of 2014."
Michael did much to help us along in his last months here.
I hope to meet up with Michael Petrov in the Happy Hunting Ground, if St. Finn will let me pass through the pearly gates.
