Nothing stupendous to report. Just managed to chrono a few odd rounds of handloads through the Ruger No. 1 today. The Barnes .412 400-grain solid over 50 grains Varget gave about 1900 and surprisingly mild recoil. The 300-grain Hornady over 52 grains Re7 gave 2340 and a much snappier recoil impulse. For what it is worth ...

Very interesting. Have you tried Reloader 7 w/the 400 gr bullets yet? I have a Ruger #1 in 405 myself and thus far have only tried 210 gr and 300 gr bullets. That 400 gr load intrigues me.

I have never seen two .405s with the same bore diameter!! thats the problem with them...
