I am depressed today, because I have come to the sad realization that I will never have all the guns I want. There is always something else out there that I want. Anybody else with the same problem??

It's a game big boys play; and the height of that game IS THE PLAYING; NOT THE END. Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

I came to the realization when I was 14, their would never be an end until they plant me. I'm 35 now and have owned 400+ different rifles/Shotguns and usually have on hand 45 to 50 at any one time. I'm a gun junkie! Ed DRSS Member

Lookin at it the wrong way my friend - that's the very reason to NOT be depressed and get up tomorrow. Tomorrow is a new day and an opportunity to buy or find a new gun! I have every trade or purchase that I have made onguns over the past 31 years since I started collecting and shooting guns. I have owned 1170 different guns and have about 100 now. My collection would be better if I still owned the stuff I have traded away instead of what I have today. Don't get me wrong, I am still thankful for all that I have now. I will never retire early though, its worth it to keep working to me to be able to get new stuff now and then.

I think knowing that there were no more guns to desire would be more depressing. I didn't go up there to die, I went up there to live.

This serious condition hit me when I was 5 years old and dad's hunting friend presented me with a hand made sling shot. The "V" was from a guava tree and the rubber was from old cycle inner tubes. The leather bit to hold the pebble was from some animal skin. I suffered from this anxiety and depression for the next 10 years until I go a .22 air rifle. Matters then got worse and another 4 years later I got my first firearm - an old Harrington & Richardson single barreled 12 bore shotgun. Now the problem was diagnosed as incurable and would get a lot worse. It was also contagious and was spreading to my other friends and I was getting infected with more serious strains from other friends. About 20 years ago I came to New Zealand and thought that the problem was cured when I bought 4 guns in about 3 weeks over Christmas (as soon as I got my license). No such luck - I keep suffering. The infection and condition has got a lot worse since the internet age came about and I could get into all the cool sites around the world ans see photos, read forums and actually start recognising the various guns and cartridges. Then I had to go to the US & shoot Sam's & Corbin's double rifles. No hope of recovery now..... Now my 12 year old son has caught the bug. He really like shooting my friend Grant's German double rifle in 25 cal!..... Ooooooh my...... "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."
