Realizing these rounds are both based on the 416 Rigby case; I was wondering what the relative merits would be for each round?

Does one rate as the better round or are they both completely interchangeable?

Availability of head stamped brass, cost, recoil, etc.

Any significant difference?

I am going to order a .450 Dakota from AHR in the next couple of weeks. You are correct, the cartridges are very similar. However, I think the brass situation is better with the Dakota. I have talked to the people at Dakota and they told me they have about a years supply of .450 brass and that, in the future, Hornaday will be making brass for them. I found it pretty easy to pick up two hundred rounds of .450 Dakota brass. The stuff I have may have been made by Jamison but it looks pretty good. You can get brass for the .450 Rigby from Horneber and Jamison. The Horneber brass is good but pretty expensive and I have found Jamison brass to hit and miss from a quality standpoint.

Thanks, after posting the question I did execute a search. Sorry. Pretty well covered.

I did not see much in terms of recoil comparisons. I know either load is going to be serious in terms of recoil. Any thoughts from somebody that has shot both?

There is no other physical result perceptible to a human shooter or bio-target.

It's official. I guess we are not allowed to talk about the .450 Rigby/Dakota anymore because we have already discussed it. Just do a search.

This is going to be a big problem if we can't talk about stuff we have already talked about. We are not going to have much to say.
