Jeffe,

Thank You!

Dutch Transit Permit is in hand. SAPS520 is approved for our arrival. Ammo is loaded, tested, and packed. 9,3x62 will accompany the bigger fella.

Were finishing the packing job now. Trying to get stuff into one carry-on! What a PITA!

We catch the plane Saturday afternoon. Looking very much forward to it ... even the flight Wink

Looking for Eland, Wildebeast, Kudu and some small stuff.

Getting excited.

Good shooting Mike! Hammer down and let's see how those bullets do! Some bullet reports would be fantastic!

Michael458,

I'm not at all sure even an Eland or big Wildebeast will stop a 425 gr Rhino solid shank bonded core bullet at 2400 fps muzzle velocity Wink Will certainly look for one ... but the plan is to get pass-throughs leaving good sized holes on the bigger animals.

Taking a Nikon D200 with an 18-200mm VR lens. Have 32 gb of cards with me. Had to leave some of the lenses at home because of the carry-on weight restriction of 18 pounds. Should have lots of pictures.

Thanks Guys!

Mike,

Is actually my third trip. Is the first one for a .458 AR though.

First one is very special. Did that in 2004.

First DG hunt is too. Did that in 2006. Going with good friends (Rick R and his wife) is always wonderful.

I haven't even left for the third trip yet and I'm thinkin' about how I'll manage to afford the fourth. Sound familiar?

Mark,

Or the hyena in camp ... or the hundreds of buffalo racing down the hill side toward where you and 4 other guys are standing on an ant hill!!

I'd sure like to do one more DG hunt. I've got a double rifle that has never been to do its job. Should have taken it to Mahenge North. Would have made me feel a little better to walk in the long grass with the lions.

I gotta admit you guys do the real deal ... no one puts on Theater THAT well Wink

Is relatively inexpensive trip this time. Funding isn't getting any easier ... and the dollar isn't going as far.
