jeffeossoSorry Guys, no updates, but I expect some next week
Terry,
remington has had a group of these in, in 30-06 and 45/70, that have undergone destructive testing, and are being made better, which is the latest "reason" for the delay.

I'd love to have one of these, but as you know my gun budget is blown for the next..................few

's
I hope you can pull this off and make all of us a nice nice pattern for when that time comes.

new_guyJeffeoso - have you tried any of the European distributors? Frankonia and Triebel come to mind.
Or are there any of these available anywhere in the world?
04 January 2006, 21:47
brianboJeffeoso, please put me down for one in 45-70, though one in 30-06 might be interesting as well.
If it happens great, if not, no worries.

Brian

lobogaWell IF I am working at the SHOT show this year I'll be one of the first to know. The one in the Rem. booth last year was handed to me by the russian guy, it was still in the factory box. I was no doubt the first person in the US to handle it as it was still in the factory wrappers. I took it out, wiped it down, put it together and put the hooks on the wall to hang it up AND I did the reverse at the end of the show. I hardly ever got near it during the show their were so many guys wanting to handle it. I was surprised how much interest there was in it!

jeffeossotalked to remington today...
they are still expecting 3q06, still.. which is about the first time i've called and the date stayed the same.
this is a QC issue with the alloys, before remington will bring them in...
I'll try to talk to the product manager tomorrow or wednesday

fritz454Jeffe, If Remmy ever gets these into the market I will take one for sure.
Between one of these and the Huglu I may get some good drawings to program the CNC to make my own action. I see a 550 flanged in my future.
BTW I started on your 550 dies over the weekend. I was feeling OK on Sunday and was able to get some work done on them.

Idaho Sharpshooterput me down for one as well Jeffe, and I have my very own 45-120 Reamer, dies, and some data. Comes from owning a SS rifle that takes smokeless pressures. 500gr bullet a 2550fps anyone?

mitchell6873I'd love to have one...let me know

Republic of AlbertaI just handled a 30-06 Baikal a few days ago. Price was $1050CND. It was a little rough around the edges and the sights were crappy but it seemed not bad for a $1050 double. I would have bought it but the stock was one of the blackest ugliest piecs of wood I have ever seen.
If I am not mistaken they are regulated for 168g bullets. The gun I looked at did not seem to have much allwance for side to side movement on the floater bbl. I don't know how much adjustment there will be for regulation. Hope fully there will be enough to step up to 180g at least.
21 March 2006, 08:31
Teat HoundI don't recall see any reports on them following the last Shot Show . . .

firemanI'd be in for a .45-70 in a heart beat, maybe a .30-06 too. Put me on the list.
24 March 2006, 20:50
FjoldI don't want this thread to die. I still say that if someone knows a
BIG Remington Distributor and could tell them that as a group we would like to order XX or XXX number of these that we could get that distributor in the front of the line with Remington and we could get them easier.

Owners manual says it is regulated for 168g bullets. With a statement of a maximum of 4" groups per bbl with the centers of the groups not farther than 3" (it said 1" but was crossed out and 3" written in pen!!) apart at 100M
I hope that I can get it shooting a little beter than 3" appart at 100M. I also hope that the bbls print side by side rather than one above the other
26 March 2006, 00:31
Die Ou JagterI would take a 45-70 in a heart beat and maybe a 30-06 also.

Mike BrooksCount me out of this BBQ. I'm having one built in a 50-90 smokless, regulated for 515 gr @1950fps= 4347fpe...

zimbabweI don't understand the 'over 55 ' reference. Do you mean we won't be alive to take deivery or we shouldn't own one as we are too old for some reason. I also take offense at the 'out of the closet' tag. Some of us don't really agree with the appellation and are truley offended by it being arbitrarily applied for any reason.

I think what invader66 may mean is that if you're over 55, you won't live long enough to see these actually hit the dealers' shelves.

As for the 'out of the closet' tag, lighten up, it's April Fool's Day.
