Dumb queston. Based on the book, "Any Shot You Want", the 470 Capstick is a .475 caliber normally 1 in 10 twist barrel. The closest bullet Woodleigh makes is a .474. Can I use .474 caliber Woodleigh bullets in a .475 caliber barreL?

Chuck

The Woodleigh .474" 500 grainer works great in my two 470 capstick rifles. However, I cannot answer whether a large volume of shooting would cause early erosion or not.

From the stories I hear, it won't matter.

Thanks all, for DG I plan to use the Swift A-Frames at 2400 fps (above recommended Woodleigh velocity for their 500g bullets) but I also plan to load it "down" to 470 Nitro velocities for elk and bear so thought the 500g Woodleigh Weldcores would open up better.

Yes you can and the difference is times 4 btw as the bullet has basically 4 sides, so thats not a lot of difference in size..It won't hurt your barrel at all...It won't hurt accuracy, in fact many tell me they are more accurate and the bullet are less distorted..The groove cuts look the same to me btw....
