The QD Rings that I have been able to find for my old Ruger RSM are Warne. Are there other options?? I've heard Talley does not make QD Rings for Ruger M77's. How do the Warne rings perform? For a 30mm tube, should I get the medium or high Warne rings? Thanks for the advice!!

Depends on your scope. I run a 1-4x20 VX-II in low Ruger rings. I had Warne medium rings on mine and didn't like them. First of all the medium rings are too high for me, can't get a good cheek weld. Besides that they're really bulky. I went back to the Ruger low rings and haven't looked back. Just take a half dollar or a stubby screwdriver in your pocket. David

The Warne QD rings are high quality. I have them on my RSM .458Lott and have had no issues. Mike ______________ DSC DRSS (again) SCI Life NRA Life Sables Life Mzuri IPHA "To be a Marine is enough."

I believe it is Leupold that offers a base which attaches to the Ruger w/ cross slot which will permit you to use their QRW rings. Not saying that is the way to go, just an option. I have same rifle and find no problem w/ the factory ring/base set up. Coin or driver, easy on and off and strong set up.

I've seen some Ruger rings that had levers added to make the QD. The one's I saw took a bit of messing around to get them set up so the lever was at the right place. Once that was done, they were pretty slick. The one's I've seen were TIG welded little handles added, but I had a fellow tell me he got some levers from Brownells. My understanding is Brownell's used to sell the QD levers for the Ruger rings. But not any more, unfortunately. If they did, I'd have them on several sets of rings, especially my Rigby. But, they do have a t-handled wrench by B-Square just for base screws such as the Rugers, Leupold windage screws, etc... Looks like it might work to stick in a pack or belt pouch if you thought you might need it. This is the one: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx...SCOPE_MOUNT_WRENCHES David

A fixed lever would be great. No real need to fold IMO. But, screwdrivers or quarters are easy enough.

Burris makes a very nice item which makes the Ruger mount base convert to a Weaver type. This allows for any Weaver QD lever ring. See... http://swfa.com/Burris-Ruger-t...e-Adapter-P2216.aspx Sincerely, E Pluribus Unum - where out of many, we will become one.

I brought a set of Burris Weaver bases However They will not fit Leupold QD Weaver rings, the rings are about 15 thou too wide Here's a picture of the setup ![]() But I never used them in the end. Its so much easier to use the orignal mounts and have a short stumpy screwdriver in my pack with a back up peep sight to replace them with. regards S&F
