This time in no less an august publication than the January 2010 edition of Rifle Magazine. "...in 1911 Rigby unveiled the 416 Rigby -a stocky big game round that could handle the biggest and the toughest. ...Comparable cartridges from other makers include the .375 H&H (1912)...". Those of you that favor the Holland round will be pleased to note that according to THE EXPERT in all things rifled, the .375 is now comparable to the 416 Rigby. What an ass. Rich

Idaho, did Terry Wieland shoot your dog, or something? Agree or disagree with him (and I do both, frequently), the guy has done more to publicize DG firearms than any other writer known to me. And by the way...his expressed number one preference for a DG rifle is a Holland & Holland double in 500NE. Hard to accuse him of bad teaste, no? Happy New Year, and happy hunting.

While I do read his stuff (and have one of his books) he has said more than once that Rigby never made a double in .416 caliber until recently. I remember reading about a double in that caliber being made for a maj in India in that caliber. The guy shot the barrels out and somebody at Guns & Ammo magazine bought it and had it rebarreled.

We are going to cross breed Wieland and Sullivan to give Rich someone he can "really" have issues with. Mike

Now, THAT was funny. Rich, Wayne is here. He is passing through on his way down to Dallas. I am hoping we can get into the range this morning and shoot his .600 before he heads off. The cross bred writer/hunter could write a story about letting a buffalo choose the way he wants to die with a 9.3 by 62, technical credits would go to Ganyana

If you cross breed Wieland and Sullivan do you wind up with a Retarded Chicken with a inbred flinch, that shoots buff in the ass with a .22LR? Then lets them choose how they die? heck, you don't have to be a world class asshole (although it helps) for me to have issues with you. Just about anyone who voted for o'bammy qualifies. But I am glad you know what does the trick. Rich

There is a thread in this forum on just this issue. http://forums.accuratereloadin...043/m/8421004321/p/1 It compares the two cartridges in question and is two pages long. So obviously they are comparable. 465H&H
