Interesting round, designed by the guy that did the original work on the grendel, but not for me.

I have both a 458 socom and a 45-70 and can use the same bullets for both, the raptor requires .452 bullets. Simplifies logistics for me... not impugning the cartridge in anyway.

as a wildcatter that has turned his creations to "open license" i don't play any of the games with licenses and fees --

though you could likely make this happen using 308 and 45 colt dies

Pigs are so easily killed with so many old proven cartridges and ammo, that I see no reason for more cartridges, ammo, or rifles just for pigs.

However, to each his own and may all enjoy the hunt and the kill.

When I was young and not making much money I saw no need for anything else then my 30 dollar sporterized 03-A3 in 30-06.

A kill it all caliber.

Now I have dies that can reload for 50 some calibers.

Need and want are totally different.

Correct, what does need have to do with it. As a teenager I had an old 12 gauge, a 22 and a 30-30, all I ever "needed".

The 45 Raptor is a fun gun for hogs, but the 375 Raptor is the one that tickles my pickle. I had a bolt gun made for this round so I could take it to Africa this summer and it performed great on buff to zebra.
