I posted this on the Gunsmithing forum the other day. It is my idea of what a budget big bore should be.

link to .416 pics and story

I have had 18 operations, including 2 on my neack. I now have 3 plates and 10 screws holding my spine in position. I had to get a friend to shoot this rifle to check function and regulate the sights and scope. I did fire one round off-hand. I am afraid my big-bire days are gone. I have the components for a .505 that I was going to build for myself, but don't know about it now. I may build it anyway, just for the hell of it. That's what America is all about, isn't it!?!

Very nice!!!! Great looking .416 and I love the peep.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Marc
that's a very nice rifle. 15 years ago, I had 2 plates and 6 bolts homeing my spine together. It can be healed completly... though cold, wet, rainy days SUCK for the back, no matter how much my mind likes them

Marc, what you did to that CZ stock is a miracle. Just perfect.

Marc,

Lovely. Simply lovely.

What did the weight turn out to be?

What safety are you going to use in the future?

It would be a real loss to the community if you do not do more rifles!

Thank you for your kind words! I never thought to weigh it before I shipped it off. In hindsight, I wish I would have done so. I will use a LaPour safety next go-around.
