I think you'll find this link on internal crossbolt most helpful. http://forums.accuratereloadin...11043/m/33910008/p/2 ____________________________ If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ... 2018 Zimbabwe - Tuskless w/ Nengasha Safaris 2011 Mozambique - Buffalo w/ Mashambanzou Safaris

I presume this is not an Express rifle you're working with, since they've already been cross-bolted. You may have a bigger job ahead of you than you realize if you're working with a standard MkII stock. Although Ruger is attempting it now with marginal results, Bill Ruger stated prior to his passing that the Ruger bedding system was not adequate for big bores. Someone has recommended that a cut be milled behind the standard bedding block and a steel plate epoxied in place. I can't make recommendations concerning your cross-bolting method, but doing anything to weaken the stock will probably not work in your favor. Bill Ruger also said that the wood in these stocks isn't hard enough to handle big bores. ________________________ "Every country has the government it deserves." - Joseph de Maistre
