G'day Pop, I Have used 400 Hornady and 350 Speers in 2 X 416 Weatherby Mark V's. I have used 105 Grains of Hodgdon H4350 Extreme , 107 H4831 ,94 Grains Varget , 105 Grains of Norma MRP. I stuck with the 350 Speer/400 Hornady /105gr H 4350 loads. All loads knocked over Rabbits with no fuss, any cattle, goats, pigs foxes etc went down the same way. I had the first 416 in 1990 ,it was one of the first 416 Deluxe's to get to Australia ,the second , a USA built Euromark shot more accurately with all loads, usually a lot better than the Weatherby Guarantee. I liked the balance of the 416 rifle over my 460 and the Japanese 378 I had with the first Japanese 416. Recoil is lighter than a 460 or an unbraked 378,it still moves around a lot though. I think the 416 WBY is a great all purpose cartridge. Good luck, Regards, Charlie | |||
