I shot a 470 Capstick today. It was a Model 70 custon stainless. It had a rimrock stock on it.I really liked it.I wanta build model 70 stainless ,Does it have to be in a 375 action.I have a bunch of 416 remmag brass to make it from.If I do build one it will have a removible muzzle break.I think its awesome caliber.I already have the brass to make it from.I was going to make a 416 Ultra mag stainless but I think thats just too much over lap with my 416 rem mags.I wqas really impres with it.It did make my 416 rem mag seem small.thats the biggest rifle I have fired to date the 470 Capstick.

I shot the 470 mbogo first, and thought it was amazing.... then the capstick, and I was like "wow" and the .475 bullet sort of debunks any id-10-t that thinks their 45/70 lever gun is a "bigbore"..

though the action cost and availibility was the giant limiter for me...

so, I made the 470 AR, which has slightly more case capacity but fits in a 3.35 action, made from rum brass.. and 458 and 416 versions, all at 3.35 vs 3.65

dgr416, any new Classic standard magnum action will do. I've got two set up for 3.60" rounds.

after winchester make the capstick in the safari series i really figured that they were going to bring it out, then they go tits up instead. would have been a neat deal to be able to go and buy a 470 crapstick over the counter and have ammo available as well

I know where a new 7mm rem mag stainless model 70 is for $700 can I build it on that action.I think the ruger 470 might be also interesting also.I alrready have tos of 416 rem mag brass just gotta neck it up.It made my 416 rem mag seen small. The only othe super big bore I am interested in is the weatherby necked up to use .510 bullets but I dont think you can make a repeater.I will try to find out.I have a bunch of Weatherby 416 brass.I want it forlong rang hunting also so I am more interested in the .510 weathby for that reason.I forgot the speed it will shoot amax 750 gr bullets.I thought about a 50 bmg but its too heavy to tote.I hope they never outlaw it.i was fully impressed with the 470 capstick but it needs a break for practice its at my limit of recoil.
