came across this at auction site. Different. "Mauser VZ-24 blueprinted honed and reheatreated. The mag opening has been opened for mag. cartridges and tested with several brands of factory ammo. The bolt face is cut to fit mag. cartridges and the extracter polished for full contact with the extraction groove of the cases. The reciever is drilled and tapped for scope mounting and the rear bridge is milled flush. Caliber is .458 Lott (5800 foot pounds factory ammo) for the first shot, the follow up shots will be standard .458 Win Mag. (mag. box is std. length). "

First of all you need to get some new bottom metal so it will take all 458 Lotts, the way its set up is disgusting! Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

I saw this one also, kind of turned my stomach. 1st shot- lots of power - next 3 extreme anemia... What will the winnie do in the lott chamber anyway? 1900 or so? Just curious. The whole idea of chambering a hunting repeater for somthing the magazine can't handle and then editorializing it in your write-up like some kind of bonus...

Seems like I remember someone posting about a rifle set up this way, may be the same one. A true half a$$ way to a Lott. Hog Killer IGNORE YOUR RIGHTS AND THEY'LL GO AWAY!!! ------------------------------------ We Band of Bubbas & STC Hunting Club, The Whomper Club

but not executed all that well... hell, look at the pics of the front sight... the silver solder is OBVIOUS on the front ramp, at the barrel, towards the action the 2pos safety is not smoothed... the top edge looks like a thumb ripper the front screw is standing proud from the cheap aluminum mag (i have one of these POSs in my junk pile.. it broke on a 358 win) ,, standing proud means the "smith" didn't trim the screwhead from that brownells screwstock. and i wonder if he hardened and tempered the screws? speaking of cheap POS floorplate... it's not inletted properly (tip DIVES into stock) which means either 1: it was improperly inletted and will destory the gun or 2: it was improperly inletted then bedded to cover it up, and done poorly NO mention of a recoil lug on the barrel.... other than this being a parts mule.... the REASON the mag is small is they got one of the 25$ aluminum hinged mauser floorplates from brownells some time ago, and didn't want to "spring" for the 400+ to get it right. i think it should be sold as a custom chamber 458 win, rather than a lott... SO, let's run down the PARTS side bottommetal 25 rear sight 90 from sight 90 barrel (shilen) 300 rear safety TWO pos(installed) 75 timmney trigger 50 pad 30 stock (i like the stock.. fair piece of wood, and a forearm that a bigbore shooter can love) 300 Bluing (don't care for the overall job) 150 checkering (nice work) 250 varius smiffin 400 1750... less "standard" 50% discount for someone else's custom rifle that don't fit anyone else 880 less the cheap dumbass factor for not using the 400 dollar bottom metal (30%) $616 Less hassle factor for me making a new box/using a parker hale 1100M $400 and i would offer jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round?
