I picked up a Lead Sled in 2006 when I was playing around a lot with my 470 Mbogo, doing a bunch of load development/bullet testing and getting ready for a cape buffalo hunt in Tanzania at the same time. I was worried about shooting it from the bench a few hundred times and developing a flinch just before my hunt. Anyhoo, I only put about 20 lbs of weight on it -- it worked like a charm and saved my shoulder a lot of grief. I still use it often for sighting in etc, but seldom ever put any weight on it. Haven't ever had a problem with a stock or scope, but as I mentioned I don't weight it down much or often, and that would probably lessen any risk. Cheers Canuck | |||

I use my lead sled without putting lead on it. It works fine and is great for working on loads for my 404 Jeffery. Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate.
