Jeffe, I keep getting mixed feedback on the 350 gr Speer MagTip. You indicate that is fragile. The fellas from Alaska indicate its a fine bullet for larger American game. What sort of velocities are you driving the Speer at and seeing failure? Is Gumboot (and others) pullin' my leg? Jeffe ... OK, I understand. I wasn't planning on pushing them to 2600! More like 2250. I do push 350 X bullets to 2700 with the Rigby and certainly wouldn't trust that to a Speer. Mike, in the rem and ar, its kinda hard to be under 2500 with that.. and those bullets just blow up at 2600 .. accurate though, so would be fine for deer/elk/pigs .. then again, the OLD hornady's did the same opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? When the speer 350 mag tip bullets went up so high in price I shot them by the hundreds through my 416 rem mag.I shot them at 2400 fps with 76 grains of reloader 15 powder and Federal 215 Large Mag Rifle primers which I cant find any more either. Its a fun load to shoot a nice smooth recoil.I would shoot 100-150 in a day. They expanded fine with awesome mushrooms. The remington load was with Swift A frames at 2600 fps and they kicked way harder.I really like the 350 gr mag tip speer .I talked to speer and they said it was supose to be a preium bullet .I use to get them for $20 a box and load 416 Rem mag for $20 for a box of 20 a buck a pop in new brass. Those are the golden days now everything has doubled or trippled.I cant find these bullets and the Federal 215 Large Mag rifle primers went the way of the TREXes.You should try the 350 gr speer at 2400 fps It really likes that speed.I shot some 2" groups with it at 200 yards though my model 70 Winchester. Its needs to be a reduced load in the 416 Rem mag and 416 Ruger.I really like the 325 Gr barnes the best but its been gone a while.

you mean you can afford factory ammunition for those calibers? I have never yet shot a factory round in anything bigger than my 375H&H. Must be my scottish ancestry... Rich Buff Killer (with handloads)
