Winchester introduces their new Safari Ammunition line, featuring four calibers (.375 H&H Magnum, .416 Rigby, .458 Winchester Magnum and .416 Remington Magnum) of proven big game ammo paired with Nosler Partition and Nosler Solid bullets

GeorgeSThat's good news. Name brand factory ammo makes it easier for folks to get into the big bores, and using decent bullets means they're likely to garner a good reputation.

Charles_HelmLooking at the prices for a box of ten for the .458 Win Mag at MidwayUSA I am not sure this is the load for me.
Still, more big bore factory ammo is a good thing. But at $112.99/ten rounds with the partition and $144.99/ten rounds with the solid, I would still be inclined to do something else.
I guess we will nkow more when someone can actually shoot them. Midway shows 1/31 for expected availability.
Or am I looking at the wrong thing?
Edit: I guess they are competitive with the Norma PH line.

That is more ridiculous than A-Square ammo pricing!

Michael RobinsonThis ammo must be made using the new Nosler SGS (Solid Gold Solid) bullet.

Charles_HelmI had hoped it would be a reasonably-priced offering...
Maybe when it becomes available it will be priced lower, or at least be packed twenty to a box? Has anyone seen pricing elsewhere?

I thought that was pretty impressive on paper. Maybe the price is similarly optimistic?
