Gents what is your favorite velocity range for any type of softpoint, deforming bullet in your 'heavy' gun? That is the biggest one in your arsenal you handle well. For the purpose of hitting the biggest game you have hunted( or would like to hunt, hypothetical favorites welcomed).

As long as your bullet and shoulder are up to it. Any more than a 570g bullet at 2400 fps and my shoulder says Uncle! Regards, Chuck "There's a saying in prize fighting, everyone's got a plan until they get hit" Michael Douglas "The Ghost And The Darkness"

Maximum velocity, of course. 2600-2700fps loaded retains 2400-2100 fps at 100-200yards. However if I ever used SP it was .458/500gr Hornady RNSP and with this bullet anything above 2300 fps. impact velocity on buffs is far too fast. Pyzda
