.395 barrel saga
.395 barrel saga
Harry says the carbide button maker finally has the tool in the mail.
We are hopeful.
Something about carbide button grinders:
Don't let the bastards grind you down, translates to hog Latin: "Illegitimi Non Carborundum," right?
The .375Wby CZ 550 Magnum thread has made me realize what a nifty thing a .395 GSC would be in a CZ 550 Magnum:
340-grain MV of 2700 fps.

prof242Barrels before brass, I can hardly wait.

Now if Ruger would only release the saami specs for chambering reamers.

By the way, RIP, will you be going to the Dallas Safari Club show in January?

Max,
I might. Made it the year before last. Shall we get a booth to promote the .395? Could I rent a square foot of table space to display the GS Custom "Trio" of bullets and take orders for barrels and bullets? With limited table space I may have to stand the McGowen barrel upright on a wooden peg. How phallic, eh?

Sorry for the bad joke. This is not a commercial venture. It is pure pioneering. Elitism at its finest.

prof242Might as well get that one-square-foot of table space. Do you think there'll be enough room for the overwhelming response? Should I bring 17 yr old scotch, or 15 yr old bourbon? Uh, maybe cheap beer?

I missed out on going to the DSC last year due to a work requirement, but have ensured no problem with this coming January. As soon as I find out which hotel the majority of ARs will be staying at, I'll make my reservation.

Gringo Cazador395 sounds like picking the fly sxxxxt out out of the pepper. but oh what the heck, I am going to build a 400 H&H because of cheap .411 bullets..............or is the cheap wine talking. I say do it if the money holds out.

Maybe an 18 year old supermodel would work better. You know how old men act around pretty girls, they can't wait to show them how much money that they (we) can spend!

Yep, that is the idea. Us wild turkeys drinking Wild Turkey in honor of that wild turkey of a caliber: .395

.395 is a new twist to the "Bore Envy" principle driving wildcats.
It is not about being bigger.
It is about being better.

prof242Is that referring to, "Its not necessarily how big it is, but how you use it?"
