I asked this in another thread and didn't get a response so here goes again. Do the CZs in 416, 458 etc, have a barrel mounted recoil lug or do they only use the receiver lug? "There always seems to be a big market for making the clear, complex."

cz's don't have a barrel lug worth talking about. they have a stock stiffener and a tie-down point. If you cut a dovetail and slid it into the dovetail on the barrel, and tigged it in, you would have a true recoil lug. why do i feel this way, when you can obviously see a lug on the barrel? the profile and function of that lump (rather than lug) is NOT to provide a 90degree RIGID recoil point, but to be a place for a sliding screw to mount to keep the barrel from lifting, but, in a worst case, it WILL slide around, not providing so much recoil holding as a solid lug. jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Thanks! I am also assuming that the receiver lug is the typical Mauser lug-ett. Just seems that if you are making a receiver large enough for a 416 Rigby you would make the lug longer while you're at it. Thanks again. "There always seems to be a big market for making the clear, complex."
