I do, in 500 jeffe, and will be in the 500 A2, and fla3006 does in a wells, which all lead to the same kind of data.

What speed are you wanting to shoot at, with what weight cast bullets, as this will change everything

Hi jeffeosso,

Thanks for the reply. What weight are you shooting or going to shoot in the A2 and Jeffery?
Probably in the 600gr range and 2000fps or so.

Ian,

You might want to try to get hold of Dave E (470 Mbogo). I have some .511 cast bullets from him (for the 500A2 that I bought from him), but I think he cast them himself??

Cheers,
Canuck

The only cast bullets I have shot in my 500 A2 have been 525gr hard cast gas checked slugs for fire forming. I have loaded them with anywhere from 94 to 97gr of IMR4895. Those loads seemed to be relatively accurate at 50 yards. The muzzle velocity ranged from ~ 2060fps to 2140fps with those loads.

look at the RCBS 475gr gaschecked mould. I shoot them in both a 510KE (510 Wells Express minus the belt) and a 505 Gibbs. Look for my posts RE 510KX from a year ago, and see what I did with some 650gr CB's.

Do a search, there is a fair amount of data on this subject. Using Jeffe's 530 grain cast bullets with 45 grains XMP5744 I get about 1650 fps. With 647 grain APIs and 95 grains 4895, I get about 2050 fps, also a fun plinking load.

Hi Ian,

I haven't done any reloading for it yet. Dave sold it to me a few months ago, and I got about 40 rounds of loaded ammo with it, which I still haven't burned up. He'd be the guy to check with on loads.

I do have "Any Shot You Want" (A-Square manual) and some other published data I can get for ya.

Cheers,
Canuck

Canuck,

I got 40 fireformed brass and 25 600gr Monolithic solids with mine. Don't want to shoot them - saving for my safari Smiler
Would appreciate the data, thanks.

Hey Ian,

That sounds like a good plan. Smiler

I will try and get you that data tomorrow. If I can't, it'll probably a week or so as I am taking off Saturday AM for some bowhunting for elk.

In the meantime, check out the data from Saeed's pages here....

Canuck,

Best of luck on the bow hunt!

I did check that data out, thanks. I have plans to start making my own jacketed bullets. I will start out small and see how it goes. Probably 600gr RN to start.
