UPS today delivered my order of 40 loaded cartridges, 50,500-grain Woodleigh bullets, 50, 500-gain Hornady Interbond bullets, and 50 pieces of Hornady brass all in .458 Lott. One look at a loaded cartridge next to my 404 and .375 cartridges, and I'm not too sure I want to pull the trigger on this monster! I'm pretty sure I will find a 500-grain, full power load in record time, and then do all my practicing with .458 Win Mags. First thing I did when I got the loaded ammo is take it to the basement and proceed to cycle all 40 rounds through the gun. Feeds like greased owl shit! No hangups, jams or even the slightest stick. Can't wait to get it to the range and cycle it "hot". Louie, I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

In fact take the meds before you shoot. At lease you will know you aren't going to hurt as much later. Frank

You guys are crazy...taking blood thinners BEFORE going out and rattling your brain around your skull! I save 'em for later. If I don't pass out from a brain bleed within an hour or two of the shooting session, I figure its safe. The only time I take a painkiller before a headache is the when going to bed after a bender (ie. a pre-emptive attack on a hangover). Cheers, Canuck

That's right, Canuck. They are more likely to have recoil induced hemorrhagic strokes than thrombotic strokes from their brains bouncing off the inside of their skulls, so they should stay away from the platelet inhibitors such as ibuprofen and aspirin. Take Tylenol before shooting, then the ibuprofen 3 hours after shooting.

Thanks for the clarification RIP! My theory on it was just "bubba logic". I shall now follow your prescription prior to any long sessions at the range with my big kickers! Cheers, Canuck

Jeez, I better talk with my doctor about this. He has me on different thinners and anti-coagulants post heart procedure and stent implants. I may not have anything up there to bounce around being the reason he never brought it up. Frank
