Hi all, I noticed on our hog hunt that the third bullet in the magazine was a seated a little deeper than the first two (they were fired). I either haven't set the crimp on my RCBS seating die right or I need a separate crimp die (I would like one). The third bullet was seated by recoil almost half a TSX groove deeper than the first two.

Anyone make a separate 500 Jeffery Crimp Die, like a Lee Factory Crimp Die?

Thanks

Regards,

Chuck

Chuck:

I had Lee make a one for me some time ago. I think it was about $75 if I remember right. They also made me a case length gauge and cutter as well for trimming. The factory crimp die does indeed work better that just crimping them with your press.

Thanks Dave, I'll definitely call them. On another note, The guide I hunted hogs with this weekend said he'd seen large hogs killed with 375s, 416s and 458 Lotts but they'd all squealed and taken a second shot. One shot from the 500 Jeff at 8 feet and all was silent except my guide and my son shaking their heads and laughing ... It makes an impression
