No Art S., it doesnt IMO. Howdah(s) were grand double pistols, regulated as built, not just chop jobs. Makers of Howdahs had a visionary purpose for them, one that existed not out of silliness.

Nice ankle gun for a guy with great big ankles. It weighs 6.5 kg (14 lb. 5 oz.) unloaded! Obviously, the owner is afraid of recoil and hammer-holes in his forehead, because he had the barrel Mag-Na-Ported.
I don't suppose there is such a thing as armor-piercing 600 caliber bullets, but now that a pistol is chambered for 600 NE, those bullets will be classified as cop killers and cannot be manufactured or imported except for law enforcement consumption.

I belive handgun in this calliber is unusable, I have seen first version in .458win mag few years ago. But what about to build revolver rifle in that calliber ??? It will need some gas shielding but as double action it could be really fast . . .
I have a 1940 Indian with a left handed throttle set up for quick drive-by's! Bet you could rest it on the handlebars and wack a Roo with it! Be a bummer if the front sight wacked you on the bike! -Rob

My mate has used his .585 shotgun style off the back of the ute while chasing stuff and he has done alright with it to. It is pretty spectacular when those 650 gr woodleigh's hit stuff on the run only 10 feet in front of the ute

I thought the revolver i saw in a book,,in caliber .50-110,,,loaded with smokeless powders,,was the most powerful,,BUT !!!!!!! I have never shot a revolver,,but i think a super redhwk in .454 casull is the most i can manage. I could try the .475 Linebaugh,,but that kicks very hard. DO ANYONE KNOW HOW IT IS TO FIRE A REVOLVER IN .475 LINEBAUGH ?????????????

The 475 and 500 linebaugh aren't as bad as most folks imagine. I've fired 440 gr loads through both, and managed to keep the front sight out of my forehead. On the other hand, I could barely keep on the paper due to the recoil.

Well, fortunately for all the nay sayers, it isn't your gun or your money, so I say, if the owner likes it, more power to him (pun intended).
I would suggest that people who are so set in the old ways that they poo-poo a non-traditional use of an old cartridge should throw those modern, ugly, and heavy double rifles out, and go with a good flint pointed spear.

Amen! All this "poo-pooing" is coming from a group of dragon slayers without any dragons. How many of the big bore owners and shooters here will never use them on anything lager than deer? Some never more than paper and big bore plinking, but that's ok by them.
