Take a look. Some will like it I guess.
600 nitro and
600 nitro>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. AMEN >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Kinda redefines a Howdah doesn't it! Maybe Wowdah?

smallfryNo Art S., it doesnt IMO. Howdah(s) were grand double pistols, regulated as built, not just chop jobs. Makers of Howdahs had a visionary purpose for them, one that existed not out of silliness.

HenryC470Nice ankle gun for a guy with great big ankles. It weighs 6.5 kg (14 lb. 5 oz.) unloaded! Obviously, the owner is afraid of recoil and hammer-holes in his forehead, because he had the barrel Mag-Na-Ported.
I don't suppose there is such a thing as armor-piercing 600 caliber bullets, but now that a pistol is chambered for 600 NE, those bullets will be classified as cop killers and cannot be manufactured or imported except for law enforcement consumption.

That is quite possibly the single most pointless, stupid thing I have ever seen.
I belive handgun in this calliber is unusable, I have seen first version in .458win mag few years ago. But what about to build revolver rifle in that calliber ??? It will need some gas shielding but as double action it could be really fast . . .

PC a backup calibre for goats on a bike also

Actually that award would probably go to the 50BMG handgun that pops up every now and then.
Each to his own I guess.
Karl.

jeffeossookay, that was just wrong...
but I wonder what his ballistics are...

So are they working on a 700 NE
I don't think it is any more ungainly then S&W's new 500, the BFR 45-70, or the Dessert Eagle 50ae, it just does the same thing on a larger scale.

Bravo five oneIt appears someone is seeking a solution to a nonexistant problem.
Bravo
Yes Karl, now I need a CR 500 2 stroke and one of these .600 NE handguns I don't know which would throw you off quicker

PC,
The worst recoil is from the Landrover defender fired at roos at about 100fps, hitting paddock obstacles.Especially if you on the roof
Then again from what Mike tells me the 350 bieng lighter and faster would probably kick a lot more.
I don't think game notices much difference though.
Karl.
My mate has used his .585 shotgun style off the back of the ute while chasing stuff and he has done alright with it to. It is pretty spectacular when those 650 gr woodleigh's hit stuff on the run only 10 feet in front of the ute

<Per577>I thought the revolver i saw in a book,,in caliber .50-110,,,loaded with smokeless powders,,was the most powerful,,BUT !!!!!!!
I have never shot a revolver,,but i think a super redhwk in .454 casull is the most i can manage. I could try the .475 Linebaugh,,but that kicks very hard. DO ANYONE KNOW HOW IT IS TO FIRE A REVOLVER IN .475 LINEBAUGH ?????????????

The 475 and 500 linebaugh aren't as bad as most folks imagine. I've fired 440 gr loads through both, and managed to keep the front sight out of my forehead. On the other hand, I could barely keep on the paper due to the recoil.
Personaly I can only see two reasons for building a handgun like this 1) as a (bad) joke, 2) if one has a very weak ego.

GatogordoWell, fortunately for all the nay sayers, it isn't your gun or your money, so I say, if the owner likes it, more power to him (pun intended).
I would suggest that people who are so set in the old ways that they poo-poo a non-traditional use of an old cartridge should throw those modern, ugly, and heavy double rifles out, and go with a good flint pointed spear.
Amen! All this "poo-pooing" is coming from a group of dragon slayers without any dragons. How many of the big bore owners and shooters here will never use them on anything lager than deer? Some never more than paper and big bore plinking, but that's ok by them.
