Yes,and probably one of the ugliest rifles ever produced (back off, Blaser haters) :-)

Lol. Pretty much sums up my thoughts. Still, kinda interesting and easy to see why it didn't take off. Aut vincere aut mori

Yeah, pretty ugly - reminds me somehow of a Boys anti-tank gun. But what about the action? The bolt handle is a long way to reach but I wonder if the action anticipates the 66 Mauser.

Yep, read the revivaler.com article. They said the guy who invented that Mauser 66 (Walter Gehmann, "six decades" later) was heavily inspired by the Certus patent of 1900, whether he knew it or not. I think the Certus inspired Blaser too.

What a recommendation?! Yes, sorry RIP, I forgot to go back to the second link before posting. Maybe the arms of the African farmers were even shorter than Harrison expected. Not only could they not reach the bottom of their pockets but the bolt handle, a trigger guard and NE cartridge down the stock, was a (lack of ) bridge too far. At least Walter Gehmann had the wisdom to put his magazine over the triggers, though his comb seems to come even closer to the bolt throw, inviting nasty accidents if the shooter's head isn't lifted.

For a rifle it is ugly. but not bad for an air gun. NRA Life Benefactor Member, DRSS, DWWC, Whittington Center,Android Reloading Ballistics App at http://www.xplat.net/

I’m sure this is a silly question, but why are the stampings on the barrel upside down? That orientation is user friendly. The rifleman looks down at the rifle in his hands just before firing, and the markings are right-side-up by his reading. He can thus more easily make sure he knows what he is firing just before he lets loose with a volley. Especially useful for obsessive-compulsive disorder sufferers who just gotta check one more time, even though they dang well know what it says on the barrel. Rip ...

Alf, Still for sale for $100,000: https://www.gunsinternational....cfm?gun_id=101327349 How about the Certus as a wrong turn on the road to the .458 WIN ? Trying (in 1900) to adapt a .450 NE 3.25" or .450 NFBP Express 3.25" to a bolt action rifle, before the dawn of the .404 Jeffery in 1905, assured the Certus was dead as a do do after 1905. Then came the .425 WR, .505 Gibbs, .416 Rigby, .375 H&H, and finally the .458 WIN. All roads lead to the .458 WIN. Rip ...

Will sell for considerably less than $100,000 since the Kaiser did not own it, another one of those "450/400 EX." rifles, Certus by C&H: Lessee, what the bid is on this .450 EX. that also has the "bush safety" in front of the bolt handle: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/853244622 Started off at about $531, been stuck at $805 for a while, do I hear $806 ?

Yep. An ugly gun for sure. Rest assured Blazer fanboys. It'll take some doing to surpass this little slice of excrement.

Well, I'll eat my words. I think this one does surpass it. I really appreciate the all weather synthetic stock well appointed with leather inserts where the human body interfaces. Looks "SMART" to me.

Those Blasers sure R 8 up with ugly. "R8 SUCKCESS" model. Yep, that sucks cess. More marketing to the Blaser underacheivers, appealing to their self opinions of being smart. That is SO WRONG. What's next ? Let me guess. Punctuation will be added to model names: "R8 SO RIGHT." "R8 DO YOU THINK I'M SEXY?" "R8 I THINK I'M SEXY!"

You guessed it RIP. The "R8 Sexy". That is if you're into the gimp/S&M thing. This version in full leather. That's right fanbois. Full leather!! Can't tell if this is Jon or Mike. You can't make this shit up. I dare you to even try!

I totally agree Alf. The above photo is quite disturbing. A rifle fully outfitted in leather. I don't know about "SMART" but it's certainly "PERVERTED" which when you think about it, perfectly describes Blasers. I mean really. Can you imagine being a fly on the wall in the board room when the idea was floated to produce a rifle completely covered in leather with contrasting color stitching? Exactly WHO is the target market for such an abomination? I think I can say without reservation, it's not someone I would enjoy sharing a camp fire with.

Semprio Big Five by Krieghoff. "In-Line repeater." A slide-action "pump." Faster than a Blaser. Better than a Blaser in every way. Comes standard in .458 WIN chambering. Other calibers, finishes and even engraving are available. Does not come upholstered in leather with contrasting-color-accent stitching. Better take-down, with barrels, magazines, and bolt heads interchangeable for multi-caliber capability.

Is it possible that the Blasers trimmed in leather with contrasting color thread are really intended for the high fashion catwalk? Meaning "to appeal to women". NRA Life Benefactor Member, DRSS, DWWC, Whittington Center,Android Reloading Ballistics App at http://www.xplat.net/
