Have you had a chance to handle or fire the new (new to me anyway) CZ-USA BRNO Stopper Over/Under rifle chambered .458 Winchester?

What are your comments/observations on the Stopper?

Thanks.

Mjines had one, he sold it to Bill73 who seems to love it! As a matter of fact I think he is considering taking a jumbo with it next year just to piss off the Brit Gun lovers! jumping

It is very accurate, Handy, fast and just the perfect weight to carry all day. IT EXTRACTS FLAWLESSLY TOO! I rechambered mine to .458 lott and had no change in POI. I've turned down $8K for it Many times. Killed a boar with it a few years ago with an offhand shot at 125 yrds. second shot hit 1 inch from the first. Wood finish is crappy, but this is a working gun not a safe queen.-Rob

You can study it here:

CZ O/U

I saw Rob's a few years ago and correct me if I'm wrong Rob, but I think the original BRNO like yours had full length side ribs?

Thanks for the link. I didn't realize that CZ is still producing them. Very cool!

The old ones with the rib between the barrels look a helluva lot better than the new ones.

I looked at the pics and Mine is definately worth $8K in comparison. I have the rib between the barrels and side bolsters. This thing looks like a pimped up Valmet! The stock on the new one looks nicer though. Mine is all scratched up from HUNTING!-Rob

RGB,

Scratches/Dents: I like to think of mine as battle scars. There are stories to go with most of them.

Still, Suggested Retail of $5554 is not too shabby if you are an O/U guy.

O/U's have a lot going for them from a recoil standpoint. Both barrels recoil in the same plane.

The barrels cool much faster with no rib. Good looking express.
