| RNS-That is the perfect setup,IE expanding in two stages,as that's way I do it.And the reason I stressed the expanders is that ASq and other basic brass may not extract good with full ( brass is to soft and not springy enough), so with expanders folks can use Norma 460 brass, which is good and springy.Few days ago was a thread about 500Asq extracting hard and we think it was because of soft brass, so if any problems occur go to 460 brass and expand. What will cost be on that whole die setup, with expanders.?..Ed. |

| ED You are reading my mind again 7/8 die set $130.00 something C&H Tool Dies recommend that we ge the 1" die body because there is not much left in the die body and very little taper. 1" dies are $160.00 somehting (from memory) expanders are like $15.00 ea (from memory) There are a few minor details left to work out on the dies but I am in the ball park on cost. | Pete from Quality Cartridge is going to ship me the sample cases that are head stamped 550 Magnum on friday. When the shipment of cylinderical cases comes in the cases will be available with correct head stamp. The shipment is schedualed for the end of November. I will post pics of the head stamped cases as soon as I get them. RNS |

| RNS-On your reamer print, how much extra chamber length did they allow beyond case length for cases lengthening? If it is set up right, there will be very little need for trimming. I got my barrel ready to get rebored to .550, and rest of rifle is ready, as it was already done.Ed. |

| Ed Max case length is 3.000" chamber will be cut + .050".
I looked into the triming products just to have them available for support of the 550 Magnum. RNS |

| I talked to Dave Davidson on friday and he is going to start making the dies 10-12 sets for the first run. Remember they are going to be on a 1" DIE BODY if anyone needs a different size they need to contact him. Dave does not recommend a 7/8" die body due to having a thin die body. RNS |
