| I have both Mark X's and Weatherby's. The Mark X is the 98 Mauser in civilian clothes. The Weatherby's are Weatherby's. All the ones I have shoot well. I believe that it is just that more traditionalists want 375's, and the Weatherby's are not traditional lookin guns; and lot's of people want them until they shoot them. Most hunters/shooters (I'll figure everyone on this board as exceptions) think that 7 or 300 mag recoil is harsh, the 375 knocks them out of thier socks. Just a theory, FWIW - Dan |

| I have a Japanese Weatherby Weathermark in .375 H&H. Got it relatively cheap from a dealer in PA on Auction Arms. Has a traditional style synthetic stock and recoil is well handled.
Has turned out to be an absolute gem! Shoots 235 Speer Hot Cores at 1/2" or better at 100, and 270 Barnes X's at about 1 1/4" at 200 yards.
I like it! |

I have one of the Mark X's in .375 in my gunsafe. I am totally satisfied with it. So far I have only taken one animal with it. I took a muley buck and he went down like he was struck by lightning. |

| I have both a Weatherby and the Mark X. Just for tradition, if I could only have one, it would be the Mark X. For shootability, I'll pick the Weatherby. |

| What's the difference between the Whitworth and the Mark X and any other variations out there? Is there anything to look for, or a reason to pick one over another? Thanks, Okie John. |
