Dressels seems to have a good selection of walnut blanks, and you can get some plain looking blanks with good grain flow for fairly resonable prices. __________________________________________________ The AR series of rounds, ridding the world of 7mm rem mags, one gun at a time. | |||

I have a couple of old world blanks, Turkish and picked for big bores, dark wood, lost of color and contrast..grain structure is from toe, up through the grip, and straight out the forend..at least 10 years old as I have had it that long, moisture is a about 4 to 6 percent I suspect..its hard and will checker as fine as you wish..the best of wood...I only have two sticks left...I do have some 3 year old wood, but won't use it for quite some time. These two blanks are priced at $800 and $1500..both are about the same in color and contrast, but the more expensive blank is full fiddle back on top of the color and contrast...
