I have a late-model pre-64 Winchester action that I WAS going to have made into a 404....but I already have a 404 that I REALLY like. So in my infinite "can't leave anything alone" mentality, I was wondering....will a 500 Jeffery fit in this action with its "slightly rebated" rim? Stuart Satterlee is doing the work and I was curious if the 500 is even a candidate I could discuss with him. Yes, I know I could call Stuart...but it's SATURDAY and I would have to wait 'till Monday. THANKS! Gary DRSS NRA Lifer SCI DSC

If it will fit into a M98 it will in a '64. Ed DRSS Member

PLEASE go lay down until this passes... i have built 3 500 jeffes, and MOST of the metal working time was "tuning" the feeding.. it takes for EVER. That being SAid, Stu has probably gotten more 500 jeffe's to feed than nearly anyone else on the planet. Just make certain to specifiy which bullet. of course, my 500 AR fits EASY in one. jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Jeff.....had to crack up when I read your post. That's probably the BEST advice I've ever had! That being said, Stuart has the action and I had said a 404, but since I have one I thought I'd just add another odd ball to the safe. Heck, I even bought a 425 WR which feeds as slick as snot....slow or fast. I'll call Stu on Monday and get his $.02. Thanks. Gary DRSS NRA Lifer SCI DSC

I had one made into a Win 70 Classic SS Action and LUV it(570X's at 2200fps from a 16" ss barrel!)Feeds perfect, though he made a new follower and mag box for it.I HIGHLY recommend Mike at Bijou Creek Gunworks-He is reasonable and fast and has alot of experience with big bores and the 500 Jeff(his favorite!)Give him a call and tell him Tom sent you..He can do it all incl making Custom quarter ribs, frt banded sight, etc, etc! http://www.bijoucreek.com/ "That's not a knife..THIS is a KNIFE" !
