416 off the 8 ball in the side pocket

cal pappasCool idea.
If you chalk the muzzle can you play? I mean, you've got the sights for any pocket shot with leaves set for 3 feet, 4 feet and 5 feet.

foxhoundVery cool.I have mine in a Hogue as well and love it; eats up recoil, never thought to customize it!

HasherI went you one uglier and put mine in an MOI coil Check.
I ordered it OD Green with black spiderwebbing.
Now I feel like the next rifle I build needs something off a beer tap as the for-end tip.

tsibindiEight ball fore end tip, who would've thunk it?
Curious about the stocks breaking. Any specific faults you've noticed?
I've been shooting a .416 Taylor more than thirty years and never experienced any issues with the stock cracking/breaking. Maybe I've been lucky.

Dan416The first stock was a Ramline plastic that the entire forearm broke off. Probably just a cheap stock. The next was a laminated stock with a crossbolt and glass bedded. That one surprised me. Wayne Jacobson said he has seen laminated stocks break that way though. I will epoxy bed the Hogue to make sure there is even pressure on recoil shoulder.

JTEXI like it!

carnold724Was that original laminated stock a Richards micro fit by chance?
My Taylor sports one and looks identical to the grain in your picture and mine split at the exact same spot.

Uncle GrinchBrings a whole new meaning to the phrase “Behind the 8 ball”.
I’ve always liked the 416 Taylor. Had one built on an Interarms MkX a few years ago.

rcraigWell, that's a unique way to dress up a synthetic stock. I like it !
