Well I just got back to the house to report that a "Hoover Hog" just fell to my 458 Lott. There was not a twitch left in him when I approached. Y'all do know what a "Hoover Hog" is, don't ya? sofa

OK guys, here is a hint. The term "Hoover Hog" is 70+ yrs old.

Collins: Does not have any thing to do with HD.

mix3006: Not a G-Man.

Gringo: Wrong Hoover.

oldun: Not one of JEH's rump rangers.

Yep, "Possom on the Halfshell". 405Remmy @ 2112fps.(plinking load) I figured it would take a Texan to know what a "Hoover Hog" was.

To all others, they were called "Hoover Hogs" during the Great Depression, because Herbert Hoover was President when it started. Lots of people ate them because that was all they could get.

We also call 'em that when they vacuum the corn up under a feeder before deer can show up and get any on the deer lease. My wife's bassett hound is nicknamed "Hoover" for the way she can clean up anything edible found on the ground. The wife put up these corn blocks in the trees for the squirrels to feed on, and keep them away from the bird seed. The sprinkler washed all the sticky syrup off they are held together with, and the corn hit the ground in a pile. The stupid bassett hoover'd it up, and shit like a machine gun for 3 days!!!!!!!!

Hey Blank,

I was not talking about pigs, a Hoover Hog or Possum on the Half Shell, is an armadillo.

Yeah, I know. We always thought of them as a rat in a marble-proof vest when I was growing up. I just thought it hit close to home with the dog. Smiler

LMFAO...

I think i know what you mean with marbles.. that indicates wrist rockets and 3/8" marbles... which will flatten a cottontail or a big fat pigeon....

I ride a "trail" bicycle in the woods around my house.. and when a couple loose (not "wild) dogs decided to chase me, that was my go to idea... not at full strength, just enough to hmm, make them prefer to chase a car rather than a jeffe

Hog Killer -- I did shoot a ËHoover HogËin Florida with my .454 Casull. However the impact must have paled next to the affect of your Lott.......yikes!
