Interesting rifle.
Sounds typical of single shot rifles shooting rimless rounds. Perhaps it would be better off shooting a .50 BMG flanged. ~

Here is another one of the 4 of those built in 1984 by Story Gun & Machine, over-sized Sharps-Borchardt action: This might be another one belonging to Robgunbuilder, 12 Ga From Hell?: And here is an even more quaint 50 BMG, a "beefed-up" 1874 Sharps: gunbroker pics: http://www.gunbroker.com/Aucti...x?Item=345464542#PIC I R. Yup that's mine. Al story built mine in 2000 I think. It's left handed too! He built the entire action on a manual mill. I still have the plans!- Rob Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers to do incredibly stupid things- AH (1941)- Harry Reid (aka Smeagle) 2012 Nothing Up my sleeves but never without a plan and never ever without a surprise!

Oh BOY !!! D/R Hunter Correct bullet placement, combined with the required depth of bullet penetration, results in an anchored animal...

Note pic of 2000 gr bore rider which hits 1650 from the beast! 1400-grain cast lead "Darwin-Award-Winning" slugs at 1800 fps is more than enough for me and my NEF 12GaFH. Kills on both ends of the NEF-er.
