Well, the scope anyway. My 2-7 Leupold gave up the ghost today. Can't move the power ring at all. Time to go shopping again.

For the heavy kickers, it's hard to beat a fixed power scope. The lighter wt. scope the better. I have had no problems w/ my .404 & the 1.5x5VXIII after 250rds. If you want to go inexpensive, get a 2.5 Leup., plenty of scope for a .458.

Yep, I'll send it back for service, meanwhile I've got to quickly pick up an alternate, just got to look around town this week and see what I like.

The only scope I have found to hold up on a the 458 Lott caliber and up, if you shoot it much, is the 2.5x Leupold. The rest will trash sooner or later. The adjustments of the 2.5 compact Leupold are directly under the turrets...

Jeff,Leupold will fix your 2x7 and have it back to you in a week...

Remember a big bore with a brake on it doubles your scope troubles as you have recoil going in both directions and all rifle scopes other than the 2.5 compact are designed for one direction recoil....

Try any other scope on a BB gun and see what I am talking about, that little BB gun will trash your finest high dollar scope...BB gun scopes are made opposite from rifle scopes as to recoil direction...

I'm surprised to even SEE that scope mentioned on this forum.
jeffeoso, what is your scope ON, anyway?

I chose that exact scope to ride atop my ArmaLite AR10. It's a special edition black rifle ( 2003 SEBR ) made for the members at AR15.com.
I wanted a 30mm scope without too much power that wouldn't cost an arm & a leg, so I put this scope on it.

I've considered getting another Tasco TITAN in the big 3-12x52 for one of my AR15's.
