I picked up a new to me 458 win Model 70 push feed. It already has two cross bolts. I was going to take it in to get glass bedded.

Does it need a barrel recoil lug added?

I am thinking not as my 416 does not, and the energy of the rounds are close to the same.

Thanks

It doesnt need a barrel lug. Good move on glass bedding pay attention around the mag box well and rear tang.-Rob

Rob,

Thanks, I will have Harry McGowen do it for me as he is close to us in the Chicago area. I will also have him add a Decellerator pad and maybe a spacer to get the LOP a bit longer.

I would ask for a barrel lug.

bedding is a MUST - and the rear tang must be relieved
