Biebs,

3 in the magazine. I actually asked Wayne about an extended magazine option by accident after he started, as I saw something similar on another AR member's rifle, though not a super bore. The GMA extended magazine is also installed on my 600 OK, and also holds 3 down.

Phill

I like the looks of a drop magazine sometimes, somebody here has a 500 jeffery with one looks great. But you couldn't pay me to shoot this thing, how many pounds of recoil is it?!

Phill,

That's one pretty thunderstick!! All the lines of a classic bolt-action rifle, love that short forend! What is the inside diameter of the NECG front signt on your rifle? I need one with a 1" I.D but they dont make them that large in the Masterpiece ramps, guess I'll have to just get one made. Please post your results at the range, a few videos would be welcome too! hilbily

Cheers!

Zubin

As the other have said---very well done!!! I like everything on it. simple with just the right stuff where needed. Give us the full run down---weight, range report, loads--everything. Unless I missed something, I don't see a muzzle break Cool

Can you actually get 4 AIMED shoots off in 15 second, with this cannon?

Dago Red,

Depending on load, of course, but, if you go by the minimum load, approximately 160 ft lbs of recoil...and by minimum load I mean a 1000 gr slug @ 2150 fps...I know gents here have used 1000 gr slugs @ 2300 fps+, including Wayne during experimentation...

Phill

z375,

The inside diameter of the hood/sight is 5/8"...when I get to the range after Christmas and New Years are done, I would be happy to post some fun videos for everyone to laugh at! I'll bring MJOLNIR, my 600 OK sister rifle, and then you can have some deeper chuckles!

Phill

600 Overkill,

Will do on the range report as mentioned earlier...initial loads are Wayne's "factory" rounds using 1000 gr copper alloy slugs @ 2200 fps, that is, until I make up my own after the holidays are done...weight of both my 700 AHR and 600 OK is 12.0 lbs even, empty...I do have a muzzle brake for both rifles, but, since most folks on AR have seen the now infamous AHR brake, I didn't include it in these photos...

Respects,

Phill

Phil,

Apologies for not being clearer in my request, I meant the inside diameter of the band for the NECG front sight, not the hood i.d!! Do they make the Masterpiece Banded sight in a 1.00" internal dia. for the band?

z,

The largest diameter banded front sight that we have been able to find is about .945 i.d. sold by NECG. It is a special order part from Germany. We made the front sight on Phill's rifle from scratch as the i.d. is .990 or so. We designed it to use the NECG hood and sight inserts. The sling band is from scratch also. By scratch I mean NOT on a CNC, but by real machining on a lathe and a Bridgeport vertical mill, and a file, by the seat of our pants.

Wow! Now THAT is the way to go, Wayne! Incredible work, love the way the rifle has come together, form and function melding effortlessly! tu2

I think I have some pics of some sort, somewhere. I believe the OP sold both of these rifles a few years ago and I don't know who owns them now. Naybe Matthew X.
