Anyone have problems with this brand on 458 Lott?

It depends on the make of the rifle.
What particular base and ring match-up to rifle are you wondering about?
More can be said.

CT, I had a Ruger 458 lott and the WQT and they became very sloppy after shooting many shots and removing the scope fell apart and had to be resembled... also another member here had same rifle and his Warne's broke when locking them...

Hmm... anyone familiar w. them on a 375R? I already ordered some, but if they won't hold up, I can give them to a friend to put on a lesser caliber.

I have used Warnes on several calibers: .338 WM, .375 H&H, .416 Rigby(RSM), .458 Lott with zero problems.

Only have used them on the 375 H&H and down. They are fine. Don't know how they could fall apart except through operator errors.

Yes, I found it hard to understand how they could fall apart. I have always had good service with Warnes and have the highest opinion of them. I have used them on calibres up to, and including, .416 Rigby and can't see how they could fail just from the effects of recoil!

I do not like quick removable mounts at all.

Allthey do is add another thing to go wrong.

I tired them once and they would not return to zero. They were close but not close enough for me,

It is only the Warne QD for Ruger (M77/RSM/Hawkeye/No.1/etc.) that I would be leery of. That design as executed by Warne must not be as strong as the one that Ruger makes.

Ruger: bottom half of ring has an integral tab acting as recoil stop, which fits into the slot of integral base. Ring halves are horizontally split. Attachment of the rings to rifle bases is independent of the tightening of the top ring halves to hold the scope in the rings.

The Warne has a loose-part, tiny tab that is held in place by the vertical split ring parts. That little tab is the weak link in the Warne chain. It is not made integral to the rings, and it is indeed the recoil stop of the ring.
Also, the tightening of the rings to hold the scope is what snugs the rings where they attach at the base. Bound to be accident prone in the Warne-Ruger QD setup.

I like QD rings, 'cause they look neat.
I use them as if they were fixed rings.
I would usually never remove them unless my scope was trashed.

If I did switch to iron sights by removing the scope via QD rings ... well that rifle will be stuck with iron sights until I can re-zero the scope at the range.

I do not trust even the finest and most expensive QD setup in the world to return my scope to zero, and I never will.

BTW,
I think the Warne QD Ruger rings are fine until you get into .458 WinMag recoil level and above.

So far so good on my 416 Rigby. Over 500 rounds with good return to zero on both scopes ( Leupold 1.5X5X20). For my 450 Dakota, I'm going with the Hein base design for Talley's, but not because of any bad experiences with Warne. jorge
