I came, I shot, I conquered...
Spent Tuesday the 22nd afternoon at Big Doggy 700's house admiring his big boy toy collection. After a suitable amount of drool, we drove out to his family range and I shot his Searcy 700H&H, and a few moments later, the Owens Four Bore Double Rifles!! I did feel the earth move a little, but recoil was surprisingly less than anticipated. My wife thinks the two 4-bore empties would make a great set of Salt & Pepper shakers.

Hope to see you all next Friday for dinner.

Seriously, Rich, very cool and I am jealous!

Stay well,

I can attest to Rich doing a fine job with both calibers. Both guns along with a few others will be at the Texas shoot for those that feel the need to shoot them. see you all there.

BigDog,

I have 4 $50.00 bills with your name on them. One each for a 4 Bore, 700 Nitro, 700 AHR, and 600 OK. Looking forward to next weekend!

After getting over the psychological impact of picking up a 4 bore ctg and actually firing one, I was very suprised! All that weight absorbed the kick. Too bad the 700 H&H didn't weigh more it might have been enjoyable. I also now know why there are gun bearers. Don't think I could carry a 4 bore all day and be able to hold it up to shoot it too!

Perhaps it is time to find a double 22 Hornet and load it with armour piercing bullets using unobtainable nuclear powders and primers.

Given a choice I would gladly shoot a 4 bore again!!

Rich, maybe you can make the next Hoot & Shoot in Texas. We had a BLAST!

I am already ratholing cash for February. It's a tough time of year, SHOT Show in Vegas, SCI in Reno, and the H-n-S in Houston in a five week period.
