Well, I took the plunge and sent off payment for a 375 Hawkeye African. I'll post some pix and my observations as soon as it arrives. I have a 1.5X5 Leupold on the way for it and am trying to find dies and loading data. I think 375 H&H starting to medium loads should work well...any suggestions?

Dies and loading data are available from Hornady

Don't get too excited.....I'm not sure anyone has seen any ammo yet.

Ammo arrived last week at
www.whittakerguns.com
and there were 100 boxes delivered, 10 cases of 10 boxes per case, 20 rounds per box, thats 2000 rounds, or 200 rounds per case. horse Time to quit ragging on Hornady.

I hope to find the time and weather to shoot some of it this week on a day off, to the range.
My African is in an HS Precision stock, and it is rough as a corncob on feeding. Needs a feed job. The pretty walnut stock is tucked away with the safe queens.

I took the plunge and bought 2 of the wood stock models.

I bought 5 boxes each 270gn SP's and 300gn RN, dies and shellholder from Hornady.

I am mounting Leuopold 1.5x5 Illum. Ret. 30mm tubes.

Both mine accept 4 rounds, feed just fine with no brass shaving.

Maybe the shaving issue is with the synth. stock mdls for some reason.

My triggers are a DEFINATE improvement over past Ruger triggers.

If the weather holds I'll be able to post some range info and pics tomorrow night......................JJ
