I say, chaps, stopped by th'CZ booth Saturday arvo and chatted a bit with Jason Morton, th'feller behind the Safari Classic range. Delightful sort, if 'may say so, and full o'news about the project, what? They had there all three of the chamberin's and that .505 is most 'stonishing impressive. Natur'lly, it's the most expensive version, don'tcherknow, comin' in at $1850 in either glossy or matte. How'ver, if yer want it in an honest cold rust, they'll do it for an 'dditional $50. Stone me, but that's a decent price, though the blighters won't do mine for that. Th' .505 weighs just short o'eleven lb.s, comes fact'ry equipped with 'n internal buffer and for y'chaps who're worried about the bolt diameter, yer hav't'recollect that the normal bolt is .700" and that the Gibbs is so low pressure that there's no need for concern . . . On t'other hand, it also keeps the HV johnnies under control, knowin' that they daren't fill the case to the brim. Magazine holds three. They also sell CZ headstamped ammunition in 10 round boxes at a whoppin' $12 ev'ry time yer pull the trigger!

Oldsarge,

Thanks for the information! How was the stock to metal fitment? I ask because the American Safari stocks don't fit the bottom metal worth a damn, at least it hasn't on the 6 ot 7 I have seen to date.

Did you happen to inquire about custom lengths of pull?

Thanks again,

AC,
Sorry, old boy, but I didn't get to the CZ booth until nigh closin' time and was too busy takin' notes t'take a connoiseur's eye to the beastie. Best feller t'answer yer questions would be Jason at jason@CZ-usa.com. Be int'restin' t'know what he had t'say 'bout such concerns, what?

Sarge,
I talked with Jason yesterday.. nice enough chap. One of the things discussed was stock failure rates.. he said the american stock seemed to have a lower rate of failure than the hogback..

hope that stands true for the 505
