far left is my boomer, it does look a bit shabby next to some of those. Wasn't that at Hogkiller's place a day or two before the Hoot-n-Shoot last February? At this time, I think I am going for the "patina" look.

There are some nice looking rifles in here. Here is my CZ-550 I picked up yesterday in 375 H&H. Nothing nearly as special as most of your guys' rifles, but it's a start. I hope during my lifetime to use her to take more than my fair share of DG and PG.

Why did you show an upside down picture of your CZ instead of you're beloved RSM? The .404 has a drop belly magazine, 4 down 1 up.

I saw what the RSM Rugers looked like in the stock on another thread. I would think the closed grip on the stock would be hell on the middle finger on discharge. I would like a more open grip on a big bore. I once had a real early Remington 700 7 mag with a close grip, it would beat the tar out of my middle finger, so bad that I couldn't talk with it. The stock was retired to make it a pleasant shooter. So much for fat bulky stocks. They're needed. Just my cents. coffee

JeffreyDenmark I like those guns! That 1909 Oberndorf is something special. I am assuming the other is an M1909 Argentine carbine? Engineer or Cavalry?

I am in the process of finishing up a few winter projects and will post pics soon as well. Mine are all budget customs, but solid. I am taking my 375 over to an automotive machine shop this afternoon to have the barrel beadblasted and once my other scope arrives from eBay I will either take some pics or have a friend with a better camera do it for me. My camera can only take detailed pics of about a 10" section if that much. If I try to fit the whole gun in the pics it is so far away that I might as well have traced them with a crayon. I have a little Mauser Oberndorf clone that I am especially proud of. It is built with a BYF 43 receiver, P.O. Ackley barrel in 257 Roberts Ackley Improved, with an American Black Walnut stock from our sawmill. My guns are not in the class of these guns here, many of which I consider Guild Guns! My safety on my Oberndorf clone was handcrafted by a ACGM Guild member. I am a tinkerer, not a gunsmith by a long shot and am not qualified to empty guild members chip pans, but they are my little customs.

My collection is far humbler than many of the ones pictured but I love them.

Left to right:
1917 Enfield .375 H&H, Husqvarna 9.3x57, Oberndorf .30-06.

I know only one's a real big bore but the other two would have been jealous is only their big brother got photographed. You should have heard the bitching from the rimfire side of the safe...

PS- I'm waiting on this one to arrive, single shot 9.3x72:

It kicks less then my 375 H&H, don't know about 300 RUM don't have one. These old slow calibres push more then they jump.

Just got this 'New to Me' CZ 550 in 416 Rigby.

My first 'Safari' rifle. Unmodified other than a dulling down of the stock finish:

Nice Dakota Timberline, I'm in the Springs too. My CZ is with Harlan Satrang getting rebarreled to 500 Jeffery. Amongst these gorgeous custom rifles it's pretty plain, but here are some images of it as a 375 H&H along with an image of my Springfield V-16 longslide in 45 Super ...
