WhitworthThis is my favorite rifle handsdown. It's a Whitworth that started life as a .375 that was converted to .416 Rem by Rigby in California. It hasn't been over the pond with me, but has with its previous owner. It features a lot of dings and scars, but it will reliably feed any ammo you throw at it and it's a tack driver that at 8-lbs is a pleasure to carry. Pure function......

shootawaySurestrike,no offense but I think both rifles are a little to bulky.
04 January 2009, 05:22
surestrikeAs compared to a Ruger RSM? Dude, no offense either, but you're smoking crack.

Why did you show an upside down picture of your CZ instead of you're beloved RSM? The .404 has a drop belly magazine, 4 down 1 up.

shootawayI am still searching for the best bolt action rifle and so far the CZ is that rifle. The rifle has to be SLIM and ELEGANT to win MY prize.Don't want any bulky and heavy action like the GMA.I like all rifles, but given a choice I would choose the best I have. That's why I am still in the process of building that rifle. When I have it, I'll rest assured that I have the best rifle.

Bulky

This from a guy who shoots a CZ..

A CZ and still bulky, but needs it in 416Rig.
04 January 2009, 08:40
Rodney H.{500Jeffery}I've only shot it once since my accident and that was with the muzzle break at the last "bubba shoot". Will most likely have fusion surgery later this month. But all this does'nt stop me from stuffing powder and bullets in cases, which reminds me I need to send you a recovered bullet. Rodney.
04 January 2009, 09:01
MacifejSure - send it over and I'll photograph and post it...
Rich was thinking he was gonna have to have fusion surgery but got another opinion and passed I guess.

And in the mean time you will diss rifles nicer than you will likely ever own?
shootaway, even a troll

should have enough class as to not put down other posters rifles, especially nice ones! Put on your football helmet and post pictures of your uber rifle when you build it

Who stocked your 416?
04 January 2009, 17:10
shootawayGG375,that 416 is a really nice rifle.Did you make any changes to the action besides the three position safety? Is that safety from Ed Lapour?

Bill/OregonOzhunter: How about details on the two bolt guns under the double rifle in your first photo? Would one of them be a .318?
