Samco global has Persian 98/29 for sale. These are decent actions and a pretty good buy. They also have 98K's which are less interesting but I think a tad cheaper.

You usually can't go wrong with VZ-24 actions. Some consder them to be the best value available today as basis for custom rifles. John Farner If you haven't, please join the NRA!

Depends on what you want to build. Generally early mausers are ok for 30-06 class cartridges. Many of them however, will develop headspace problems with magnum cartridges. This is why Rigby stopped making .416 Rigby's on M98's and why Weatherby quit using FN's. The VZ24 as others have said seems to hold up the best with really big bores. What ever you do look at the action locking lugs and make sure they show no evidence of being set back.-Rob Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers to do incredibly stupid things- AH (1941)- Harry Reid (aka Smeagle) 2012 Nothing Up my sleeves but never without a plan and never ever without a surprise!

I'd far prefer post war FN actions but the VZ-24 is a superb action and rifle. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
