Test shooting Big Bore Rifles?? Login/Join

This may be a totally ignorant question, but are there places around the country where, for a fee[or buy the ammo], a guy could try some big/med bore rifles? More for my son, than me. I have fired 1 458WM, a few years back, and I do shoot a rather stoutly loaded .45-70 GG. On the other hand, my son, except for the 45-70 hasn't. He is thinking maybe 375 HH or a 375 Ruger. Nobody in my area, that I know, even shoots big bores, let alone hunt Africa. Myself I'd like to try the above 2 plus a 450/400 3". So, as I said are there places where one can test shoot different guns to test particularly for recoil?

There is some type of Safari school in TX, I have never tried nor heard anything from anyone attending the school, nor do I remember how I heard about it. And Im not even old yet.

If you are willing to drive or fly to Waterloo, Iowa(about 500 miles from Indianapolis) you can shoot about anything you would like up to .460 Wby. Both short and long range. We have most of the big bores, DR's in .470 NE, .416 Rigby, 9.3 x 74R and 45-70, bolts in .460 Wby, .458 Lott, .458 WM, .416 Rigby, .416 Rem Mag, .416 Taylor, .375 H&H, .375 Ruger, 45-90 and several smaller caliber big guns like 8mm Rem Mag. I would be happy to take you and your son shooting. I had 4 gentlemen over from England 2 months ago and took them. They had a ball, shot big bores and long range and went home bruised and smiling. Let me know when.....Tom
